All adventure challenges need a mascot but none will find one as loyal (or as smelly) as Arthur
Sadly, Arthur passed away in April 2023,. The loss of Arthur absolutely broke James and his family, almost putting a stop to Part 2 entirely. James can't bring himself to remove Arthur from this page so Arthur remains, smelly as ever, as the spiritual mascot of Cycle for Change.
In keeping with the environmental theme of the challenge, James decided on a used touring bike to restore and renovate for the project,
The bike is a 1992 Dawes Super-Galaxy. A classic, Reynolds 531 Steel framed British touring bike with legendary status in the cycle-touring world. Bought on a budget, it took a bit of TLC and upgrading to bring it up to speed for the journey but for James this only enriched the challenge further.
The most important part of the team are the friends, family and followers whose support and motivation will keep James inspired to carry on.
