On his first ride, James' journey was brought to a stop after 6 weeks by the return of covid in the form of Omicron. As accommodation options thinned, James decided to stop his journey 2 weeks early in Aberystwyth. So, over 4 years later, he's heading back to pick up where he left off!
James isn't sure why but he feels this is the right way to go.
"Keep the ocean on my right and just keep peddling!"
Sounds logical enough!
James isn't sure where he will stop and rest each night, There will be a vague plan but a lot will depend on his progress, campsite availability, weather and if people offer accommodation. This will change from day to day but he'll be doing his best to keep followers informed in advance via his social media channels (Facebook and Instagram) @cycleforchangejames
Can you recommend a coastline campsite? Are you happy for James to camp in your garden or sleep on your sofa? Get in touch using the link below and help him out if you can.
James wants to be as responsible and carbon neutral as possible along the way, which will mean no no cycling on pavements or footpaths (bridleways and cycle-paths are ok), as few ferries across easturies as possible, no lifts in peoples cars and no sneaking on public transport to take shortcuts.
"I have no idea how far I'll get. Bad weather, fatigue, injury or illness may have a huge impact on my progress so I can't promise where I'll get to. What I can promise is that I'll do all that I can to get as far as possible in the time I have ."
